Solar Roof Top Systems

Solar rooftop system is a reliable, easy-to-install system with a lifespan of 15 years using existing roof space to generate clean energy helping you save on electricity charges. A typical solar system consists of solar panels (which absorb sunlight), inverter (which converts DC into AC), mounting structure (that hold the panels in place), batteries (to store the extra power generated), grid box and balance of systems (wires, nuts etc.).

On-Grid Solar Systems

An on-grid system is also known as a grid-tied system. It is one that works with your local utility’s company e.g Distribution companies as PDD in J&K..

Energy Conservation Building Codes, ECBC-2017

Energy Conservation Building Code (2017) is to provide minimum requirements for the energy efficient design and construction of buildings. ECBC prescribes standards for:

Building Envelope (Walls, Roofs, Windows)
Lighting (Indoor and Outdoor)
Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System
Solar Water Heating
Electrical Systems

IEC 60364-8-1 standard: the state-of-the-art for Energy Efficiency in electrical installations

IEC 60364-8-1 is part of the IEC 60364 series of standards and enhances Parts 1 to 7 with the introduction of requirements and recommendations to design the electrical installation which provides the best compromise between the required level of service and safety, and the lowest electrical consumption.

It is applicable for both greenfield and brownfield projects and should be implemented throughout the life cycle of the facility.

The first edition of Part 8-1 of the IEC 60364 standard was released in October 2014. It has recently been updated, with a second edition released in February 2019.

IEC 60364-8-1 edition 2 gives requirements and recommendations for the design of an electrical installation with an energy efficiency approach. This emphasizes the importance of Energy Efficiency in the design of electrical installations, in the same way as safety and implementation rules.
